The inspiration for this painting comes from patterns I remember from my childhood. My mother had a green polka-dot sari and I remember it because she wore it when I got one of my report cards in school. The middle comes from her love of gemstones, jade here. Watercolor on paper, 5.4" x 10.4".

Hi Sunshine,
I am impressed that you have found what you have to say in your art, and you allow it to come out and be real. So many people either complain that they have nothing to say (no ideas) or get all flustered and cover it up by proclaiming "I'm no artist! It's nothing!" When we deny our spirit and imagination, we are denying part of our essence.
For the past month I have been posting a series of essays on creating and liberating yourself to express what is inside. It is called ArtQuest1.blogspot.com/ or you can just click on my name. If you visit, and if it speaks to you at all, leave me a comment.
Thanks for sharing! Bob
