Everyone's loss

My co-worker's sister was anticipating the adoption of a little infant girl from Gautemala whom she had been visiting for a year. Unfortunate circumstances led to the child's demise. Very heartbreaking.

Birthday cards

I made these cards for two birthday parties (both kids are turning one) that my daughter is attending at the end of this week. Both cards were made using watercolors and white cardstock paper. The one with the balloon, I used a purple metallic gel pen for the writing and the border. They measure 4.25" x 5.5". I"ll make the envelopes today or tomorrow and I'll be painting a little something on the solid white gift bags.

If making interesting envelopes is considered art...

I pulled this page out of an Indian magazine. It's an ad for chewing tobacco. The back of this envelope is most interesting to me. Notice the small font for what is the most important message in this whole page.

GC2: Oranges on my mind

Love them. Watercolor on pastel blue cardstock paper. Card measures 4.25" x 5.5", blank inside.

GC1: A Cartload of Love!

I felt the need to create some greeting cards. Here's the first (GC1) of a lot more to come. Watercolor on pastel blue cardstock paper. Blank on the inside, this card measures 4.25" x 5.5". .

Memories in patterns

The inspiration for this painting comes from patterns I remember from my childhood. My mother had a green polka-dot sari and I remember it because she wore it when I got one of my report cards in school. The middle comes from her love of gemstones, jade here. Watercolor on paper, 5.4" x 10.4".

Watercolor on paper, 6.3" x 11".
